Rick Pullens has extensive experience in journalism and the performing arts. Since July 2007, Rick Pullens has held various editorial positions at Trouw, including Redacteur Tijdgeest and Chef eindredactie. In addition to work at Trouw, Rick Pullens has been a theatermaker, performer, and pianist since June 2017, recently performing as a pianist in the production ‘La Lawaai.’ Prior to these roles, Rick Pullens served as a Verslaggever at De Telegraaf and conducted research at the University of Amsterdam on housing projects for repatriates. Rick Pullens holds a degree cum laude in Political and Cultural Geography from the Universiteit van Amsterdam, a Postdoctoral degree in Journalism from Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam, and a certificate in Kleinkunst from the Theateropleiding Selma Susanna.

Trouw
Trouw is one of the three national quality newspapers in the Netherlands, and part of the Belgium publisher De Persgroep. In 2012 it received the award European Newspaper of the Year fot its concept of a 'daily weekly' and its design. It produces every day a newssection and a section 'De Verdieping' with background, analyses, reports en opinions. On saturday there are two extra magazines called Letter&Geest with essays and bookreviews and a magazine named Tijd with human interest-story's. It's orginally founded in 1943 as a resistance newspaper. Nowadays the newspaper takes special interests in politics, sustainability, education, healthcare and the role of religion and (new) religious groups in our rapidly changing society.
