Jon Deane has over 15 years of experience in the commodities industry. In 2005, they began their career as a Commodities Trader for the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. In 2007, they joined UBS Investment Bank as an Associate Director of Commodities Trading, where they were part of the team that built the Commodities Trading Business. In 2009, they moved to J.P. Morgan as Managing Director, Head of Asia Pacific Commodities Trading. In this role, they were responsible for driving the Onshore China strategy for Global Commodities. Jon was then promoted to Managing Director, Global Head of Bulk Commodities Trading and Managing Director, Global Head of Agricultural Commodities Trading. In 2018, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Trovio Capital Management (formerly TCM Capital), managing the build out of a global diversified asset manager focused on distributed ledger technologies (DLT). In 2020, they joined the Digital Finance CRC as a Board Member and the Trovio Group as Chief Executive Officer, providing digital asset management and advisory services.
Jon Deane's education history includes a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance from the University of Sydney, which they completed between 2000 and 2003. Jon then completed a course in Applied Finance & Investments from FINSIA between 2003 and 2005. Prior to this, they attended the University of Sydney, and before that, Sydney Church of England Grammer School.
