Jason Slack has over 25 years of experience in software engineering and product engineering. Jason began their career in 1996 as a Senior Systems Image Quality Technician at Xerox. In 1997, they moved on to Nortel Networks as a Software Engineer. Jason then returned to Xerox in 1998 as a Global Software Development Manager, Software Development Manager, Senior Software Development Engineer, and Software Development Engineer. Theirroles included embedded application and new feature design, development, and programming in C, C++, and Java, as well as creating and maintaining low-level and high-level design documentation, architecture, and feature specifications. In 2017, they joined Paychex as a Software Engineering Manager, where they were responsible for end-to-end delivery of Human Capital Management and Payroll software solutions throughout all phases of the Software Development life cycle. Most recently, in 2021, they began working as the Director of Product Engineering at Truepic.
Jason Slack began their educational journey in 1991, when they attended the University at Buffalo and studied Architecture and English. Jason then moved on to Monroe Community College and obtained an Associate degree in Liberal Arts in 1994. After that, they attended SUNY Brockport and obtained a Bachelor degree in English in 1996. In 2001, they returned to the Rochester Institute of Technology and studied Software Development and Management until 2003. Jason then returned to the Rochester Institute of Technology in 2017 and is currently enrolled in their Product Development program, which they have paused. In addition, they have obtained three certifications: a Design for Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from Xerox in 2013, and Application Security and Secure Coding Training courses in .NET and Source Code from Checkmarx in 2020.
