John Bednar

John Bednar is a risk management professional with over 15 years of experience in operational risk and regulatory compliance. Currently serving as the Head of Enterprise Change Risk and Product & Services Risk Program at Truist, John is responsible for strategic planning and risk program design. Key achievements include the successful redesign of the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) program and the development of an Operational Risk Capital Methodology following a major merger. Educated at North Carolina State University with an MBA in Finance and the University of Phoenix with a Bachelor of Science in Business Finance, John has held various leadership positions throughout their career, contributing actively to industry groups such as the American Bankers Association.
