Berthold Schmidt

Berthold Schmidt is an accomplished technology executive with extensive experience in the photonics and high-tech industries. Currently serving as CTO and Member of the Managing Board at TRUMPF since February 2013, Berthold Schmidt also holds various leadership roles within the company, including CEO of TRUMPF Photonic Components and President of TRUMPF Photonics Inc. Additionally, Berthold Schmidt is a member of the Board of Directors for the European Photonics Industry Consortium. Previous roles include expertise in micro- and nanotechnologies at the Commission for Technology and Innovation CTI, and leadership positions at Intense Ltd and Bookham. Berthold Schmidt's academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Physics from the Technical University of Munich and participation in executive programs at Stanford University, among others.
