Sam Anzaroot

Sam Anzaroot is an experienced NLP Engineer currently employed at Trunk Tools since January 2025. Prior to this role, Sam served as an Applied AI Researcher at Verneek from January 2021 to January 2025 and held the position of Principal Data Scientist at Dataminr from September 2014 to September 2020, where responsibilities included building an AI/Data Science team and tackling natural language problems related to public safety events on social media. Earlier work experience includes positions at Oracle as an intern, focusing on GPU-based methods for graphical model inference, and as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, conducting research on machine learning applications in natural language processing. Sam's academic background includes a Master's degree in Computer Science with a focus on Information Extraction from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Queens College.
