Katy C. started their work experience in 2009 as a Library Aide at Bozeman Public Library, where they managed the information desk and public meeting rooms. Katy later became a Library Assistant, serving on the marketing committee and updating the library's main website. In 2013, they worked as an Office Assistant at Washington State University. From 2014 to 2015, Katy served as a Stack Supervisor at the University of Idaho Library, where they supervised student staff and managed stack needs.

In 2015, Katy joined Schedulicity as a Customer Experience Rockstar, handling user calls, emails, and chat interactions. Katy later worked as a Production Support Engineer, aiding the Customer Experience team with data requests and creating internal reporting features. Katy then transitioned to a Junior Software Engineer role, working across multiple code bases and assisting the Customer Experience team. Katy was promoted to Software Engineer II in 2020 and Software Engineer III in 2021. In 2022, Katy joined Truss as a Software Engineer.

Katy C. obtained a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) degree with a focus on Information Architecture and Web Programming from San Jose State University. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Montana. Their educational journey started at Cottey College, where they completed an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in General Studies.
