Nathan started their career as a Research Intern/Programmer Analyst at UC Berkeley & Net21, where they conducted research in the area of adaptive fault-tolerant distributed systems and successfully implemented existing research in distributed hash and data lookup. After that, they worked as a Software Engineer/Analyst at CFS Financial Inc., where they monitored macro-economic indicators and applied them to daily business operations while also leading the development of technology systems. Nathan then founded ipyrus.com, where they served as the Founder & CEO, focusing on creating physical document management solutions.

In 2008, Nathan co-founded Cebu Machine Intelligence Laboratory, Inc. (CMIL), a research lab and software engineering consultancy based in the Philippines.
