Holly Borowski

Director of Aerospace Engineering at Trusted Space

Holly Borowski has extensive experience in the aerospace engineering field. Holly is currently working as the Director of Aerospace Engineering at Trusted Space, Inc. since July 2021. Prior to this role, they held the position of Senior Modeling & Simulation Engineer at the same company starting from September 2020.

Before joining Trusted Space, Inc., Holly worked at Numerica Corporation as a Research Scientist in Aerospace Engineering. From June 2016 to September 2020, they conducted research and development related to the Tasking, Collection, Processing, Exploitation, Dissemination pipeline for the Numerica Telescope Network (NTN). Holly also led algorithm development and deployment for the Indications and Warnings component to detect changes in earth orbiting satellites. Additionally, they served as the Principal Investigator for a Cislunar Space Situational Awareness Phase I SBIR project, focusing on object detection and tracking in Cislunar space.

Holly began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant and PhD student at the University of Colorado Boulder from August 2010 to May 2016. During this time, they researched distributed control systems, unmanned aircraft path planning algorithms, and mentored undergraduate students. Holly was also the recipient of several academic awards and scholarships.

Prior to their academic pursuits, Holly served in the United States Air Force in various roles. From August 2008 to August 2010, they worked as a Deputy Mission Manager, managing integration efforts for the Space Test Program - S26 mission. Holly was also acknowledged as the Space and Missile Systems Center nominee for the 2010 Women in Aerospace Award. Holly also served as a World Class Athlete Program Cyclist from January 2007 to August 2008 and as an Aircraft Maintenance Officer from August 2004 to August 2007. In these positions, they were responsible for aircraft maintenance, workforce training, and operational support in combat operations. Holly led a team in maintaining the Global Hawk Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS), both in the United States and in the overseas deployment at Al Dhafra Air Base, UAE.

Holly Borowski pursued their education by first attending the United States Air Force Academy from 2000 to 2004. During this time, they obtained their Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics. Following their undergraduate studies, Holly enrolled at the University of Colorado Boulder, where they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Aerospace Engineering from 2010 to 2016.
