Stuart Byers has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities. Stuart started their career at AkzoNobel in 1996 as a Modern Apprentice and progressed through different positions, including Marine Forecasting/Supply Chain Analyst, IT Support Desk Analyst, and Digital Support Manager. In these roles, they demonstrated their skills in website management, redevelopment, and e-commerce systems.
In 2009, Stuart became a Digital Product Manager at AkzoNobel, where they were responsible for developing and supporting digital sales tools and services within the Protective Coatings business unit. Stuart then moved on to become a Global Marketing & Communications Manager, where they designed and implemented communication strategies across market segments. Stuart later transitioned into the role of Global Marketing Manager for Protective Coatings, leading a marketing specialist team and focusing on customer-facing marketing activities.
After their tenure at AkzoNobel, Stuart joined TSG in 2018 as a Business Change Manager. In this role, they delivered a structured approach to business change management and led the implementation of a new Voice of the Customer platform. Stuart then became the Head of Customer Experience, driving customer experience initiatives and leading the marketing team to develop and execute marketing campaigns.
Currently, Stuart holds the position of Head of Business Improvement at TSG, where they continue to drive improvement and support cultural change initiatives.
Stuart Byers has a diverse educational background. Stuart obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business, Finance, and Marketing from The Open University in 2005. In 1997, they received a Higher National Certificate (HNC) in Business and Finance/Marketing from North Tyneside College. Stuart also completed their GCSEs from Willington Community High School in 1996, achieving grades in English (A*/B), Maths (B), Science (B/B), Geography (A), Keyboard Applications (A), and Art and Design (B).
In terms of additional certifications, Stuart has a Level 2 Business Improvement Techniques certification from NCFE, obtained in December 2022. Stuart also holds a Lean Six Sigma (White Belt) certification from the Management and Strategy Institute (MSI), obtained in April 2018. Stuart is a Studying Member at the Level 3 Coaching and Mentoring program offered by the Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM), which they began in December 2014. Additionally, they have completed courses on Innovation in the Age of Disruption and Strategy in the Age of Digital Disruption from INSEAD.
Furthermore, Stuart is currently pursuing a Six Sigma certification from the Management and Strategy Institute (MSI).
