Steven Buchanan

Steven Buchanan has worked in the chemical industry since 1998. Steven began their career as a Development Technician at Unilever, where they developed powder and liquid detergent formulations. In 1999, they moved to PZ Cussons as a Development Chemist. In 2001, they joined the Health and Safety Executive as a Regulatory Scientist, where they were part of a small project team tasked with preparing the HSE for the role of competent authority for REACH. In 2008, they joined the European Chemicals Agency as a Scientific Officer. In 2019, they joined TSG Consulting as a Senior Regulatory Chemist and was promoted to the position of Principal Chemistry and REACH Consultant in October 2021. In this role, they provide chemistry related support and regulatory advice to general and speciality chemicals, biocides and pesticides related projects.

Steven Buchanan attended the University of Liverpool from 1995 to 1999, where they earned a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry with Industrial Chemistry. Theirfield of study was Chemistry.
