Nick Acker

Nick Acker has extensive experience in software engineering, with a focus on developing scalable applications and implementing data analytics solutions. Nick has held various roles and responsibilities throughout their career.

At Boulevard, Nick is currently working as a Senior Software Engineer II, a position they started in June 2023.

Prior to joining Boulevard, Nick worked at Blitz from 2019 to 2023. During their time at Blitz, they started as a Senior Software Engineer and was later promoted to the role of Staff Software Engineer. In this role, they played a key role in transforming a legacy monolithic Elixir application into a high-scale and high-availability cluster of microservices. Nick also addressed reliability issues, increased test coverage, implemented metrics for system observability, and created a Continuous Integration and Delivery pipeline. Under their leadership, the service availability increased significantly, and data pipelines were scaled to handle large amounts of data. Nick also provided mentorship and support to junior engineers and collaborated effectively with product managers.

Before Blitz, Nick worked at SIX CRM as a Senior Software Engineer from 2018 to 2019. Nick was responsible for software development projects during this time.

Prior to that, Nick gained experience as a Front End Engineer at NRG Esports in 2017. Nick also worked at Mindflash as a Software Engineer from 2016 to 2017, where they developed a training and certification course software. At moovel Group, they worked as a Software Engineer in 2016, where they built a mobile ticketing platform for municipal transit agencies.

Nick's career started at Children of America in 2014, where they worked as a Software Engineer. Nick played a key role in developing software to manage childcare facilities, implementing a web application with AngularJS and creating a mobile application for classroom staff. Nick also created a real-time video streaming service.

Before that, Nick worked as a Web Developer at Purebred Breeders, LLC from 2012 to 2014. In this role, they developed customer-facing websites and an internal CRM platform, implemented various improvements, and integrated SMS service for automated lead follow-up.

Nick Acker obtained a Bachelor's degree in Web Design and Development from Full Sail University, completing their education between 2009 and 2011.
