Hsin Lan

Hsin Lan is a Principal Engineer at TSMC, focusing on R&D within the Advanced Tool and Module Development Division and the Etching Department since December 2023. Previously, Hsin completed a PhD at UCLA in Mechanical Engineering from September 2018 to September 2023, conducting research in the Optofluidics Lab on innovative sensing platforms for early-stage cancer diagnosis. Hsin's background includes research positions at Academia Sinica, where a 2D material biosensor was developed, Silicon Kinetics working on biomolecular interactions, and the Xu Research Group on micro-neural probes. Additional experience encompasses investigating nanomaterials at various laboratories and an undergraduate research role at National Taiwan University, complemented by performance as a saxophonist in the Ministry of National Defense Symphony Orchestra. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Nanoengineering from UC San Diego and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University.
