Markus Doepfert is a research associate at Technische Universität München since January 2021, focusing on the development of the agent-based energy system tool HAMLET, the python package EnTiSe for energy time series creation, and contributing to an energy system database, while researching energy market designs from a distribution grid perspective. Previously, Markus served as a renewable energy consultant at nymoen Strategieberatung, where responsibilities included developing generation portfolios for district heating suppliers and new zero-carbon products for major companies. Early experiences include internships with Deutsche Gesellschaft für Sonnenenergie Franken and Siemens, and roles in translation and teaching. Markus holds a Master of Science in Energy Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico and a Bachelor of Engineering in Renewable Energy and Energy Management from TH Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences.
