Stefan Bauer

Stefan Bauer is an Associate Professor at the Technical University of Munich and the Director at Helmholtz Munich, both focusing on Machine Learning since March 2023. As a CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholar since 2020, Stefan has contributed to significant advancements in the field. Previous roles include Assistant Professor at KTH Royal Institute of Technology from July 2021 to February 2023, and Senior AI Fellow at GSK, where work centered on Machine Learning Enabled Drug Discovery. Additional experience includes serving as Research Group Leader at MPI for Intelligent Systems and Lecturer at ETH Zürich, specializing in Probabilistic Graphical Models for Image Analysis. Stefan holds a PhD in Machine Learning from ETH Zürich and has a strong academic background with degrees in Mathematics and Economics from prestigious institutions.
