Gary McDonald

Gary McDonald has extensive experience in product management and leadership roles. Gary is currently the Head of Product Management - Mobile at Wavelo since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the same position at Tucows, starting in August 2021. Gary also served as the Director of Product Management - Mobile at Tucows from October 2020 to August 2021.

Before their time at Tucows, Gary worked at TELUS, where they held various positions. Gary was the Director, Products & Services | Emerging Services | TELUS Partner Solutions from January 2018 to March 2020. Prior to that, they served as the Manager - Product Management | Enterprise Mobility Digital Self Serve Channel from October 2015 to January 2018. Additionally, they held the role of Manager - BCX Continuous Improvement & PMO from September 2014 to October 2015.

Prior to their tenure at TELUS, Gary worked as the Director, Product Development at Rogers Communications from January 2013 to July 2014. Gary also gained experience as a Senior Product Manager at TELUS from 2007 to 2013.

Gary's earlier work experience includes roles as a Senior Consultant at Carpedia International from August 2006 to November 2007, and as a Cost Sharing Specialist at Schaeffers Consulting Engineers from October 2002 to July 2004. Gary began their career as a Contract Administrator at Yolles Partnership from September 2000 to September 2002.

Gary McDonald completed their MBA in Marketing/Marketing Management, General from the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they obtained a B.A.Sc. degree in Engineering from the University of Toronto, which they completed from 1996 to 2000. In addition to their formal education, Gary has also obtained certifications in various areas including Agile Product Owner Role: Foundations, Agile Project Management Principles, Cert Prep: PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Exam Tips: PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), and Programming Foundations: Fundamentals.
