Lukas Schack

Lukas Schack has extensive experience in the fields of photogrammetry, geo-information, and machine learning. Starting as a research assistant at the Institute of Photogrammetry and GeoInformation at Leibniz Universität Hannover from November 2011 to September 2016, Lukas progressed to roles at TUI, including Manager of the Data Analyst Group Strategy and currently serves as Principal Machine Learning Engineer since January 2022. Additional experience includes a short-term research expedition at the Alfred Wegener Institute of Polar and Marine Research in early 2013. Lukas has also held leadership roles in blockchain engineering and applied research at TUI, focusing on delivering business value through advanced data science in the tourism sector. Educational qualifications include a Master of Science in Geodäsie und Geoinformatik, a Ph.D. in the same field with a focus on Pattern Recognition in Remote Sensing data from Leibniz Universität Hannover, along with an Erasmus program at Universitat Politècnica de València.
