Sam Bartrum

Sam Bartrum has worked in various roles and companies throughout their career. Sam started their career as a Visiting Researcher at M. Kozybayev North Kazakhstan State University in 2008, where they conducted independent research on Noctilucent clouds. In 2011, they joined The University of Edinburgh as a PhD Student and also worked as an Academic Tutor, teaching undergraduate students in Mathematics and Physics courses.

In 2014, Sam worked as a Visiting Researcher at Universidade de Aveiro, conducting research funded by the SUPA Early Career Research grant. Sam joined TVSquared in 2016 as a Software Engineer and later moved on to Bought By Many in 2017 to work as a Software Developer. In 2019, they joined LabGenius as a Senior Software Engineer and Technical Lead, where they worked until 2022.

Currently, Sam is employed at tumelo as a Senior Data Engineer, starting their position in November 2022.

Sam Bartrum earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from The University of Edinburgh. This was completed from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, Sam obtained a Master's degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the same university, from 2005 to 2010. Furthermore, Sam has obtained several additional certifications related to data engineering, big data, machine learning, and cloud platforms from Coursera. These certifications were obtained between July 2019 and January 2020.
