James McCarthy

James McCarthy is currently a Director at Turner, where they lead the design and delivery of diverse project types, including masterplanned communities and social housing. With extensive experience in large-scale developments such as Woolooware Bay Town Centre and The Highline precinct in Westmead, James emphasizes creating people-focused designs that foster a sense of place. Previously, they served as an Associate at McCullough Mulvin Architects from 1999 to 2004 and earned their DipArch BArchSc(Hons) in Architecture from the Dublin Institute of Technology between 1994 and 1999. Additionally, James has contributed to academia as a guest critic at UNSW and participated in the UDIA NSW Awards Judging Panel in 2018 and 2020.
