J Smyth

J Smyth is an experienced social care professional with a background in various roles within child and family services. They worked as a Social Care Worker for HSE Shared Services and HSE Crisis Intervention Service from 2001 to 2003. From 2017 to 2023, J served in multiple capacities at Tusla - Child and Family Agency, ultimately becoming the National Lead for Foster Care. Currently, J is pursuing a Bachelor of Social Science at University College Dublin and has earned a Master’s degree in Social Science Social Work from the same institution, along with several specialized certificates in developmental trauma and mentalization-based therapy.
