Arthur Yu has worked as an Online Tutor at Tutor.com since July 2017. In this role, they tutor college level math and physics courses and helps students problem-solve over voice or text channels. Additionally, they engage students to think critically in problem-solving with an emphasis on building from fundamental principles. Prior to this, Arthur worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at UC Irvine from June 2009 to September 2016. During their time there, they completed their Ph.D. research on investigating the interaction between electrons and light in single molecules and nanostructures. Arthur gained experience in experimental design, data analysis using Origin and Mathematica, and had extensive hands-on responsibilities with laser systems, high vacuum systems, and liquid helium cryostat systems.
Arthur Yu earned a Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Mathematics from New York University in 2008. Arthur then pursued further education at UC Irvine, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from 2008 to 2016. In 2018, Arthur attended the New York City Data Science Academy to complete a Certificate in Data Science, specializing in the field of Data Science.
