Maryellen Groot

Maryellen Groot's work experience includes various roles in education and writing. Maryellen currently works as a Master Writing Tutor at Tutor.com, where they assist students with writing assignments and helps them improve their writing skills. Prior to this, they worked at Phillips Academy as a PALS English Teacher and Writing Tutor. Maryellen also has experience as a Paraprofessional at North Reading Middle School, a Clinician at Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes, and a Teacher/Tutor at Score at the Top. Additionally, Maryellen has worked as a Lead Historical Guide and Copywriter at GO Educational Tours, creating and leading historical tours for students and designing travel programs. Maryellen has also worked as a Tour Guide at Frederick Law Olmsted National Historic Site.

Maryellen Groot completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Written Arts, American Studies, and Environmental and Urban Studies from Bard College, where they studied from 2008 to 2012. In 2020, they obtained a certification as a Secondary School Teacher from the ELEMENTARY AND SECONDARY EDUCATION, MASSACHUSETTS DEPARTMENT OF. Currently, Maryellen is pursuing a Master's degree in Writing, General at Salem State University, starting in 2021 and expected to graduate in 2023.
