Paul Pavka

Tutor

Paul Pavka has a diverse work experience in the field of polymer science and education. Paul started as a Graduate Intern at The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, where they studied the effects of curing conditions and filler loading on elastomer properties. Subsequently, they worked as a Graduate Student at the University of Akron, Department of Polymer Science, evaluating thermoplastic elastomers based on mechanical, thermal, and optical properties. During this time, they also conducted dynamic fatigue and tensile testing, as well as optical, mass, and thermal characterization using various techniques.

After completing their graduate studies, Paul worked as an Adjunct Faculty in Physics at Stark State College, where they assisted students in problem-solving methods in physics, chemistry, and mathematics. Paul also mentored students and maintained a professional atmosphere in the science learning center. Paul later joined Columbus State Community College as an Adjunct Faculty in Chemistry, teaching fundamentals of chemistry and materials science to future chemical operators and professionals.

Paul's experience in education also includes working as a Tutor at The Ohio State University Student Athlete Support Services Office and Tutor.com, where they provided academic support in various subjects, including physical chemistry. Additionally, they tutored a student in physical chemistry during the fall semester at O. S. U. while working with Tutor Doctor.

In terms of industry experience, Paul worked at Franklin International as an Adhesives Project Implementer, evaluating adhesive performance and identifying reasons for suboptimal product performance. Paul also held the position of Compound Developer and Technical Advisor at Akron Rubber Development Laboratory, Inc., contributing to the development and technical guidance in the field of rubber compounds.

Throughout their career, Paul has demonstrated expertise in polymer science, testing methodologies, and academic instruction, making him a well-rounded professional in the field.

Paul Pavka has a Master of Science degree in Polymer Science from The University of Akron, which they obtained in 2013. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree with distinction in Materials Science of Engineering from The Ohio State University from 2001 to 2006. Paul's high school education was completed at Strongsville, although no specific degree or field of study was mentioned. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Adhesives and Sealants Council Webinar Training Certificate from the Adhesives and Sealants Council in August 2016. Additionally, they hold a Fundamentals of Engineering License in General Engineering from NCEES, which they obtained in July 2010.
