Jim Riley

Jim Riley began their work experience as an Auditor at Price Waterhouse in 1987. After completing their training contract, they worked as an Office Training Tutor and Office Staff Manager while also handling transaction work. In 1995, they helped establish and grow the Transaction Services department at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Leeds. During this time, they worked closely with local VCs and MBO/MBI teams and completed numerous deals. In 1996, they became an Assistant Director of Corporate Finance at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where they also completed their MBA. Jim enjoyed working in a more commercial environment and even worked on a potential deal for Thomson Travel. From 1998 to 2000, they were the Director of Strategy at Thomson Travel Group plc. After leaving Thomson Travel, they set up their consultancy service, Candeo Strategy Limited, in 2001. Jim spent two years working with VCs and other organizations in the UK's travel and tourism industry. In 2002, they co-founded Tutor2u Limited with their twin brother Geoff, serving as the CEO. Jim is passionate about education and forging partnerships with like-minded businesses.

Jim Riley completed their education at Harrogate High School from 1975 to 1982. Jim then attended Durham University from 1983 to 1986, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Economics & Economic History. Later, from 1995 to 1997, Jim pursued an MBA (Distinction) from the University of Bradford Management School.
