Eli Sidman's work experience begins in 2007 as a Testing Lab Engineer at Reviewed.com, where they managed and executed digital camera lab testing. In 2008, they joined MIT as a Technical Instructor, leading physics experiments and tutoring undergraduate students. At MIT, they also designed and fabricated physics demonstrations and created videos of these demonstrations with over 1 million views on YouTube.
In 2011, Eli worked as a Teaching Assistant at Sullivan Fabrication Studio, followed by a Design Intern role at Samsung in 2012. In 2013, they became a STEM Consultant at the Teaching Institute for Excellence in STEM, providing expertise in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education.
From 2013 to 2017, Eli was self-employed as a Designer and Consultant, collaborating with Experience Institute to train teachers and design curricula for middle and high school science classes. Eli focused on using the Design Thinking process to teach problem-solving skills and incorporated real-life projects into the curriculum.
In 2014, Eli joined the School of the Art Institute of Chicago as an Adjunct Faculty, teaching undergraduate and middle school students courses such as "Designing Your Future" and "Designed Inventions." Eli aimed to equip students with observation, understanding, and design skills.
Eli's experiences at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and self-employment led to their role as a Studio Lead at Experience Institute in 2015, where they led professional development workshops, curriculum design, and the development of experiential learning products until 2016.
In 2017, Eli joined Tandem as a Product Designer, eventually becoming the Principal Product Designer & Design Hiring Coordinator. Eli held this position until 2022, when they transitioned to TutorMe as the Lead Product Designer.
Eli Sidman completed a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Physics and Visual Art, at Bowdoin College from 2002 to 2006. Following this, from 2011 to 2013, Eli attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where they obtained a Master of Design degree with a specialization in Designed Objects.
