Janet Simpson

President & CEO at TVS

As the third president to serve tvsdesign since opening for business in 1968, Janet aims to design a better human experience: a place where people can thrive, grow, learn and flourish. Upon assuming this role as tvsdesign was celebrating its 50th anniversary, Janet executed a complete refounding plan that would set the firm on a trailblazing path to high growth and exceptional performance in the 21st century. Under Janet’s leadership, tvsdesign has seen increased year-over-year revenue while expanding into new markets, adding to the firm’s global portfolio of remarkable design.

With a natural tendency to constantly reshape environments, Janet is implementing new programs to empower more voices and encourage new ideas around innovation, inclusion, servant leadership, cultivating young leaders, change management, company culture and values. She is a member of the Rotary Club of Atlanta, Woodruff Arts Center Board of Trustees, Design Futures Council, IIDA, ASID and AIA’s Large Firm Roundtable.

Janet has been a panelist for industry-leading events such as AIA’s annual conference, AEC Tech, ICSC Centerbuild and Design NXT Week, discussing innovation and leadership in design firms. Her thoughts on productivity, leading a 21st century design firm and design technology have been featured in Curbed, Marie Claire, Design Intelligence and more.

In her career as a workplace interior designer prior to assuming the role of president, she notes three “career-building” projects: the 400,000 square foot Fiserv office in Alpharetta, the Mattress Firm Bedquarters in Houston, and the first Cox headquarters building at the Perimeter in Atlanta. Janet’s career exemplifies the exciting possibilities for a designer whose ultimate aspiration is to create environments that make everyday experiences more enjoyable and productive for the people working in them.
