Ian Murphy

Ian Murphy is a Senior Manager at Twelve, leading a six-person electrochemical operations conditions team focused on optimizing novel CO2 electrolyzer systems. Previously, Ian held positions as Manager and Senior Engineer within the same organization, where responsibilities included managing electrochemical testing conditions and bridging catalyst design with operating conditions. Prior to Twelve, Ian served as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Washington and was a recipient of the Clean Energy Institute Graduate Fellowship, conducting research on the surface functionalization of nanoparticles for electrocatalysis. Ian's academic credentials include a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Washington and a Bachelor of Science with honors in Chemistry from Florida State University.
