Michael Hatfield is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in platform engineering and cloud architecture. Currently serving as the Director of Engineering at Twilio since November 2022, Michael leads the runtime platform group within the Segment Infrastructure Engineering Platform, emphasizing developer experience and productivity through automated infrastructure operations. In February 2024, Michael also took on the role of Chief Cloud Architect at Crewdogs, where responsibilities include designing and implementing cloud infrastructure for a mission-driven startup focused on short-term rentals for military personnel. Previous roles include Senior Site Reliability Engineering Manager at VMware Carbon Black and various engineering positions at Tabula Rasa HealthCare, BoomTown, Environmental Express, Inc., and NewWave Telecom & Technologies, Inc. Michael holds Bachelor's Degrees in Computer Science and Information Technology from Salisbury University.
