Ben Block

Ben Block is a Principal Software Engineer at Syntax Indices since March 2023, with a prior tenure at Tyemill from June 2014 to March 2023, serving in various roles including Technical Lead. Expertise encompasses full stack development with a focus on Ruby on Rails and associated technologies. Academic experience includes a peer advisory role at the University of Puget Sound, supporting incoming freshmen, and a Chism Scholar project involving extensive research on Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. Additional roles include Programming Director for KUPS 90.1FM, where oversight included scheduling and compliance, as well as internships at the Milwaukee County Historical Society and Innovative Interfaces, contributing to research and office operations respectively. Ben Block holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Art History from the University of Puget Sound.
