Michael Strand

Michael Strand has a diverse work experience, beginning in 2013 as an Active Member of the Undergraduate Student Advisory Board for Materials Science and Engineering at UW-Madison, where they hatched the idea and facilitated the design and implementation of a technical elective. Michael also worked as a Peer Advisor for Engineering Career Services at UW-Madison in 2013. In 2014, they were a Research Assistant for the Nucleus - John Perepezko Group, a Process Engineering Intern for Brady Corporation, and an Academic Mentor for the Center of Academic Excellence. In 2015, they were a Research Assistant for the Advanced Materials for Energy and Electronics - Arnold Group and a Program Coordinator for E3: Engineering, Energy, and the Environment. From 2016 to 2020, they were a Research Fellow for the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute at Stanford University. Michael is currently a Co-Founder and Director of Engineering at Tynt Technologies.

Michael Strand has a diverse educational background. Michael obtained a Bachelor of Science in Materials Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015. Michael then went on to pursue a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University, which they completed in 2018. In 2020, Michael completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Materials Science and Engineering from Stanford University. Additionally, Michael has obtained five certifications from SAS in 2021, including Design of Experiments, Decision Making with Data, Quality Methods, Exploratory Data Analysis, and Statistical Thinking and Problem Solving.
