Stew Fortier

Stew Fortier is a Co-Founder and CEO of Type.ai, which offers a streamlined AI writing experience and is backed by Y Combinator (W23). Previously, Stew co-founded Foster, providing editorial support for online writers and also backed by Y Combinator (W21). Experience includes serving as CTO at Banzai, where engineering leadership was provided through a Series A, and acting as CTO in Residence at the Allen Institute for Artificial Intelligence, co-founding and spinning out WellSaid Labs, which raised $10M in Series A funding. Additionally, Stew co-founded and served as CTO of MassRoots, a social networking startup that achieved a $45 million public listing, and also worked as an analyst at Foulger-Pratt, underwriting significant mixed-use developments. Early entrepreneurial efforts include co-founding a screen printing company, 14th Street T-Shirts. Education includes participation in the Y Combinator W21 batch and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and Religious Studies from the University of Virginia, complemented by studies in algorithms and cryptocurrencies at Bradfield School of Computer Science.
