Inge Bertels is a full professor at the Department of Architecture in the Faculty of Design Sciences at the Universiteit Antwerpen and has served as Dean since October 2021. They earned a PhD in 2008 with a thesis on nineteenth-century urban development in Antwerp and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre of Urban History. Inge's professional background includes roles as an architectural historian and researcher, as well as advisory positions with various academic and professional organizations related to construction history. They taught architectural history and theory at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel from 2008 to 2024.
