Vanhoutte

Professor Kurt Vanhoutte is a prominent figure in theatre and performance studies at the University of Antwerp, where they have been a professor since 2006. They also serve as spokesperson for the Research Centre for Visual Poetics, facilitating interdisciplinary research in modern visual media since 2013. Vanhoutte's research focuses on the performance of science and knowledge in the nineteenth century, particularly through a media-archaeological lens, and includes leading a major project on the magic lantern as a mass medium.
