Mazen Danaf

Mazen Danaf is a highly experienced economist and data science professional currently serving as Principal Economist and Senior Data Science Manager at Uber Freight since August 2021. Danaf leads a team focused on developing and optimizing machine learning algorithms for contract pricing while collaborating with sales, engineering, and product departments. As a Research Affiliate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology since 2015, Danaf has published over 25 papers and created frameworks for personalization in transportation systems. Previous roles include Market Research Data Scientist at Aurora and Uber, where Danaf utilized market research and optimization models for autonomous vehicle routes. Danaf holds a PhD in Intelligent Transportation Systems from MIT and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the American University of Beirut.
