Ali Rauh

Ali Rauh currently serves as the Director of Applied Science and Data Science at Uber, leading a team of over 50 scientists in areas such as Marketplace Matching, Membership, Maps, and Experimentation since November 2023. Prior to this role, Ali was the Head of Marketplace Data Science at Airbnb from June 2017 to November 2023, overseeing a team of 25+ data scientists and contributing to the development of innovative data products across various domains. Ali began a career in research as a Manager at Cornerstone Research, conducting comprehensive analyses across multiple industries from August 2014 to May 2017. Educationally, Ali holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago, where significant academic achievements include completing a Master's and Ph.D. in under three years and receiving the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. Ali's thesis gained recognition in prominent publications and was featured in Tyler Cowen's Marginal Revolution and Quartz.
