Arjun Shanmugam

Arjun Shanmugam is an Applied Scientist at Uber, having commenced this role in 2025. They graduated from Brown University in May 2023 with a B.S. in Computer Science-Economics, where they were recognized with the best senior thesis award in their graduating class. While at Brown, Arjun served as a Machine Learning Research Assistant under Professor Emily Oster, developing machine learning models to predict schooling modes and contributing to significant research at Opportunity Insights. Their technical expertise includes extensive work in Python, SQL, and statistical analysis, highlighted by a successful transition of a major database project reducing build time dramatically.
