Eli Gutin

Eli Gutin is a highly experienced staff software engineer at Uber since August 2018, focusing on improving the rides marketplace and earner experience. Previous roles at Uber include senior software engineer, where Eli worked on personalization, incentives targeting, and real-time rider pricing algorithms, as well as software engineer II and applied scientist II, contributing significantly to the design and implementation of Uber's next-generation surge pricing algorithm. Prior to Uber, Eli interned as a data science intern at dataxu, developing budget allocation algorithms for real-time bidding systems, and worked at Morgan Stanley as a software engineer, specializing in low latency algorithmic trading development. Eli holds a PhD in Operations Research from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and an MEng in Computer Science from Imperial College London.
