Himaanshu Gupta

Himaanshu Gupta is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive expertise in artificial intelligence and machine learning. Currently serving as Director of Engineering - AI at Uber since January 2018, Himaanshu leads the Applied AI organization, focusing on innovative AI solutions that enhance user experiences globally. Prior experience includes tenure at HERE Technologies as Senior Engineering Manager for Highly Automated Driving, where Himaanshu managed a team developing advanced algorithms for map feature detection, and at ObjectVideo as Director of Research/Principal Scientist, overseeing the creation of cutting-edge computer vision algorithms for video surveillance applications. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Electrical Communications Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur.
