Ian Castillo

Ian Castillo is an accomplished data scientist with experience at Uber and Nubank. Currently serving as Data Scientist II in Operations at Uber since December 2021, Ian previously held the role of Senior Data Scientist at Nubank, where Ian played a key role in developing a machine learning model for user acquisition in Mexico and creating a credit model for assessing risk associated with potential users. Earlier at Uber from 2017 to 2020, Ian contributed to the Data Science Strategy and Planning team, driving initiatives such as the expansion of the Uber Pro loyalty program across Latin America. Ian's career began at CIMAT as a Junior Research Fellow, focusing on optimal stopping problems as part of an undergraduate thesis. Ian holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and a Diploma in Big Data as Business Strategy from Tecnológico de Monterrey.
