Jose Olmedo

Jose Olmedo has a diverse professional background that includes roles in academia and various industries. Initially serving as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Lausanne, Jose transitioned to the finance sector as a Quantitative Engineer at swissQuant Group AG, overseeing operations of a quant fund and conducting significant research. As a Project Leader at CMP, one of the largest BPOs in Mexico, Jose contributed to financial services, followed by founding Fintelec, an energy company focused on small-scale PV solar in Mexico City. Jose held prominent finance roles at Uber, culminating in positions as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Financial & Operations Officer for Uber Payments Mexico. Academically, Jose holds a Master of Science in Financial Engineering from EPFL and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics from HEC Lausanne and the University of Michigan, alongside a French Baccalauréat from Lycee Claudel in Ottawa.
