Melissa Avila has a dynamic background in education and human resources. They began their career as a Math Teacher and Swim Coach at Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools from 2005 to 2007, then progressed to roles with Teach for America, where they notably served as School Director and contributed to teacher development and training. From 2015 to 2018, they held the position of Director of Human Resources at Summit Learning, managing significant personnel growth and spearheading various HR functions. Currently, Melissa works at Uber as a People Development Business Partner while also teaching yoga at CorePower Yoga. They are pursuing further education at the University of Arizona's Eller College of Management.
