Molly Moran

Associate General Counsel, EMEA at Uber

Molly Moran is currently the Associate General Counsel for EMEA at Uber. Prior to joining, they served as the Acting General Counsel for the United States Department of Transportation from January 2016 to December 2017. In this role, they oversaw regulatory and litigation activities of more than 500 lawyers within the Transportation Department and its agencies. Molly also managed over 100 direct report lawyers on day-to-day operations of the Office of General Counsel.

Some of their key accomplishments include developing and completing the Transportation Department's guidance on automated vehicles, connected vehicle regulations, and cyber security best practices. Molly also developed with FAA leadership the next steps in the regulatory framework for unmanned aircraft (drones). In addition, they formulated litigation strategy to address district court ruling that halted construction of multi-billion dollar Purple Line light rail project in Maryland suburbs. Molly also supervised legal team working on negotiated rulemaking process with airlines, manufacturers, and stakeholders to address access for disabled individuals on next-generation single-aisle aircraft. Finally, they counseled Transportation Secretary on approval of Norwegian Air’s foreign air carrier permit.
