Neil Barakat

Neil Barakat is a seasoned engineering and software development leader currently serving as the Sr. Director of Engineering at Uber, where they oversee the Experimentation and Maps platforms. Previously, Neil held positions such as Chief Technology Officer at Tahsys Technologies Inc. and Software Development Manager at Amazon, contributing significantly to projects in both fulfillment technologies and robotics. Neil earned a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto, along with a Master’s degree and a Bachelor's degree with honors from McGill University. Their extensive experience also includes roles at Gedex Inc. and various academic positions at the University of Toronto and University of Victoria.
