Ning

Ning Ma, Ph.D., is a UX researcher and scholar specializing in human-computer interaction and social computing, focusing on the gig economy and the evolving nature of workplaces. As a postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia, Ning conducts research to understand women's experiences on gig platforms and applies human-centered design principles to propose safety enhancements. Previously, Ning interned at Uber, where the research on food couriers led to significant operational changes, such as curbside delivery implementation. Ning's academic contributions include publications in leading HCI conferences and valuable insights shared with various worker communities. Additionally, Ning holds a Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology from Penn State University.
