Prasanna Vijayan

Prasanna Vijayan is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and technology strategy. Currently serving as Director at Uber since July 2017, Prasanna focuses on scaling engineering platforms and data infrastructure. Previously, at Ishi Systems Inc. from June 2006 to July 2017, Prasanna held multiple positions including Vice President of Engineering, where leadership was provided to globally distributed teams and collaboration with C-level executives was fostered. Earlier roles included Senior Director and Director positions, with a strong emphasis on Big Data technologies, system modernization, and software delivery. Prasanna's career also includes significant contributions at Fannie Mae, where Independent Asset Price Verification systems were developed, and at Nationwide Insurance, working on insurance software solutions. Prasanna holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Materials Science from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and the University of Cincinnati, respectively.
