Sharon Gieske

Sharon Gieske is a Machine Learning Scientist in the Payments department at Uber, where they focus on developing machine learning solutions for payment-related challenges. Prior to this, Sharon served as the Tech Lead for the Machine Learning team at Picnic Technologies, overseeing the development of over 20 production models and MLOps initiatives. Sharon also lectured at the University of Amsterdam on various topics within Artificial Intelligence and gained valuable experience as a Machine Learning Engineer at Picnic, contributing to projects in fraud detection and demand forecasting. They hold multiple degrees from the University of Amsterdam, including a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence and a Master’s in System and Network Engineering, graduating Cum Laude. Additionally, Sharon was the Treasurer for the Vereniging Informatiewetenschappen Amsterdam from 2011 to 2012.
