Bernardo Veiga

Bernardo Veiga is a seasoned financial professional with extensive experience in model validation and risk management. Currently serving as Director at UBS since July 2019, Bernardo focuses on the validation of AI and machine learning models. Previously, Bernardo held the position of Vice President at Barclays, where responsibilities included validating macroeconomic scenarios and developing interactive R-Shiny dashboards. As Lead Analyst at CRISIL Global Research & Analytics, model development and implementation in R and SQL were key tasks. Earlier roles include Financial Risk Manager at EY, where Bernardo worked on credit and operational risk models, and Senior Analyst at Itaú Unibanco, contributing to risk-adjusted pricing strategies for credit portfolios. Bernardo holds a PhD and an MSc in Mathematics from USP and a graduate degree in Financial Risk Management from FIA.
