Lukas Pümpin

Lukas Polok is a Research Engineer at Apple since August 2017, with extensive prior experience as a Research Assistant and Ph.D. student at Brno University of Technology from August 2009 to August 2017. Lukas has a strong background in teaching and research in image processing, computer vision, user interfaces, algorithm acceleration, parallel computing, and GPU platform acceleration. Notable projects include participation as a Local Coordinator and Member of Research Staff in the European 7th FP project IMPART, and roles as Principal Investigator for national projects focused on mobile application development and image processing. Lukas also contributed to the Smart Autopilot project, developing system architecture and GPU-accelerated rendering. A Visiting Fellow at The Australian National University in 2015, Lukas holds a Ph.D. in Information Technology from Brno University of Technology, where studies were completed in 2017, as well as a Master’s Degree from the same institution in 2008.
