Steven Friedman

Steven Friedman, CFA, currently serves as Director of sell side equity research at UBS, focusing on the South African precious metal and diversified mining sectors since September 2021. Prior to this, Steven held the position of Director of Equity Research at Renaissance Capital from August 2013 to September 2021, where responsibilities included writing thematic reports on various platinum and gold miners in the EMEA region. Earlier experience includes serving as Oil Division Manager at The New Reclamation Group, where business plans and pilot plant designs were developed, and a dual role at Investec Asset Management that involved analysis of listed companies and management of institutional client relationships. Steven holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, obtained in 2005.
