Lead, Sustainable Finance Group at UBS

Volker Schieck serves as the Lead of the Sustainable Finance Group at UBS since January 2011, where responsibilities include developing commercial solutions related to sustainable finance and managing cross-divisional initiatives on carbon markets and transition finance. Previously, as Chief Operating Officer for Sustainable Finance, Volker Schieck led a comprehensive review of UBS's sustainability strategy, culminating in the formulation of the firm's first holistic net zero commitment and membership in the Net Zero Banking Alliance. Additional roles at UBS include managing the Office of the Chairman of the Board of Directors and serving as Executive Director and Director of Group Governmental Affairs. Prior experience includes positions at Deutsche Bundesbank as a Research Analyst/Economist focusing on the banking industry and international financial systems, with earlier freelance work in finance and internships at BMW Group. Volker Schieck holds a Master's degree in Econometrics from Maastricht University and has studied Economics at Luiss Guido Carli University.
